On July third through the seventh, fourteen people were killed and an additional sixty eight were wounded in numerous gunfights on Chicago. It was said that is was the deadliest weekend to happen in Chicago yet. It was a holiday weekend when unexpected "fireworks" went off Thursday afternoon. Two of the people that were killed were male teens shot by officers. "I think it is a representative of the gang, drug, gun violence problem that persists in Chicago" says Ross Rice (security consultant for CBS Chicago.)

In the middle of August till today Ebola has been a strong and growing concern. U.S. has begun to ramp up aid to Ebola-stricken countries in West Africa. Contributions could soon top $250 million dollars. Soap, Ebola test kits, lentils, rice, disinfectant, body bags are a small amount of examples that are being used and bought.  The CDC has somewhere around 100 specialists working in Liberia, the nation hardest hit by the virus while USAID has just 27. Cuba just offered to send 165 doctors, nurses and specialists to aid the outbreak.

A family that lived in California but moved to Tennessee had already had two children. They took the first three letters of both the mom and dads last night to make Sabr. They soon found out this was an Arabic name when going to the airport and having to be out on delay because the name was on the no fly list. While living in Tennessee they had there third child and used the same last name as there other two kids. They soon were told that this name was unable to be used. Eddie Weeks, the state's law librarian, says a 1970s Tennessee law "makes it point-blank clear that, no, you cannot combine two names in any way other than the whole last name of both parents, or either surname of either parent." The parents could end up going to court and may be faced with a $150 fine.

Michelle Obama has recently taken "a move" against childhood obesity. She has made conceptions on many restaurants, in the kids menu section along side of school foods. She has done more of adding healthier options rather than replace what was before. For example in the McDonald's happy meal you now get apples and fries instead of on or another. She has also changed lunch menus at school across America. Vending machines in schools has also evolved around this as well.
